The ADM202EARNZ is a robust, high speed, 2-channel RS-232/V.28 Interface Device that operate from a single 5V power supply. Suitable for operation in harsh electrical environments and are compliant with the EU directive on EMC (89/336/EEC). The level of electromagnetic emissions and immunity are in compliance. Four external 0.1µF charge-pump capacitors are used for the voltage doubler/inverter, permitting operation from a single 5V supply. It provides a robust pin-compatible upgrade for existing ADM202, ADM232L or MAX202E/MAX232E sockets.
The MAX232N is a dual driver/receiver that includes a capacitive voltage generator to supply TIA/EIA-232-F voltage levels from a single 5V supply. Each receiver converts TIA/EIA-232-F inputs to 5V TTL/CMOS levels. These receivers have a typical threshold of 1.3V, a typical hysteresis of 0.5V, and can accept ±30V inputs. Each driver converts TTL/CMOS input levels into TIA/EIA-232-F levels. The driver, receiver, and voltage generator functions are available as cells in the Texas Instruments LinASIC library.
