The 24AA256-I/P is a 256kB I²C CMOS serial Electrically Erasable Programmable Read-Only Memory (EEPROM) capable of operation across a broad voltage range 1.8 to 5.5V. It has been developed for advanced, low-power applications such as personal communications or data acquisition. This device also has a page write capability of up to 64 bytes of data. This device is capable of both random and sequential reads up to the 256K boundary. Functional address lines allow up to eight devices on the same bus, for up to 2Mb address space.

The device’s cascadable feature allows up to 4 devices to share a common 2-wire bus. The device is optimized for use in many industrial and commercial applications where low power and low voltage operation are essential. The devices are available in space-saving 8-pin JEDEC PDIP, 8-pin EIAJ, 8-pin JEDEC SOIC, 14-pin TSSOP, 8-pin LAP, and 8-ball dBGA packages. In addition, the entire family is available in 5.0V (4.5V to 5.5V), 2.7V (2.7V to 5.5V), 2.5V (2.5V to 5.5V) and 1.8V (1.8V to 3.6V) versions.
