The 1206CC103KAT1A is a surface-mount (SMT) high-voltage Multilayer Ceramic Capacitor with Ni and Sn plated terminations. High value, low leakage and small size are difficult parameters to obtain in capacitor for high voltage systems. AVX special high voltage MLC chip capacitor meets these performance characteristics and is designed for applications such as snubbers in high frequency power converters, resonators in SMPS and high voltage coupling/DC blocking. This high voltage chip design exhibits low ESRs at high frequencies. Larger physical sizes than normally encountered chip is used to make high voltage MLC chip products.

The Multicomp MC series is middle and high voltage MLCC capacitors with X7R dielectric material which provides high stability and reliability. These capacitors are designed by a special internal electrode pattern which can reduce voltage concentrations by distributing voltage gradients throughout the entire capacitor. This special design also affords increased capacitance values in a given case size and voltage rating. These MLCC capacitors are used as snubbers in high frequency power converters, high voltage coupling / DC blocking, DC to DC converters, back lighting inverters and not intended for AC line filtering applications.
