LT3045 Advantages
The device supplies 500mA at a typical 260mV dropout voltage. Operating quiescent current is nominally 2.2mA and drops to <<1µA in shutdown. The LT3045’s wide output voltage range (0V to 15V) while maintaining unitygain operation provides virtually constant output noise, PSRR, bandwidth and load regulation, independent of the programmed output voltage. Additionally, the regulator features programmable current limit, fast start-up capability and programmable power good to indicate output voltage regulation.
The LT3045 is stable with a minimum 10µF ceramic output capacitor. Built-in protection includes reverse-battery protection, reverse-current protection, internal current limit with foldback and thermal limit with hysteresis. The LT3045 is available in thermally enhanced 12-Lead MSOP and 10-Lead 3mm × 3mm DFN packages.

LT3045 FAQ
What can the lt3045 LDO regulator be used for?
The LT3045 was designed for noise sensitive power supply applications found in instrumentation, test, and medical designs.
What kind of linear regulator does LTC use?
The LT3045 is a high performance low dropout linear regulator featuring LTC’s ultralow noise and ultrahigh PSRR architecture for powering noise sensitive applications.
What is the voltage range of the lt3045?
The LT3045’s wide output voltage range (0V to 15V) while maintaining unity- gain operation provides virtually constant output noise, PSRR, bandwidth and load regulation, independent of the programmed output voltage.
How does a low dropout regulator work?
Low-dropout regulators are distinguished by their ability to maintain regulation with small differences between supply voltage and load voltage. For example, as a lithium-ion battery drops from 4.2 V (fully charged) to 2.7 V (almost discharged), an LDO can maintain a constant 2.5 V at the load.
What does low dropout voltage mean?
LDO, which stands for Low Dropout, can operate at a low potential difference between input and output. Although there are no strict numerical definitions regarding the potential difference between the input and output of an LDO, generally the lowest voltage at which the regulator can operate stably is less than 1V.
